Il gruppo FSA WE è a 12 velocità, solo disco con cassetta in titanio da 12 velocità più leggera
Il nuovo gruppo FSA K-Force WE ora passa a 12 velocità e rinuncia del tutto alle opzioni dei freni a cerchione, qualcosa di inaspettato per il produttore di componenti italiano taiwanese ma cruciale per rivaleggiare con i tre grandi del mondo del cambio.

Quando FSA lanciò il gruppo K-Force WE a 11 velocità, il mondo del ciclismo non sapeva cosa pensare; un'azienda raramente sfidava i tre grandi ed è sopravvissuta per raccontare la storia. D’altra parte, se qualcuno ha le risorse per farlo, la FSA è stata una buona scommessa. Dopo aver esaminato e addestrato attentamente la prima iterazione del gruppo FSA WE a 11 velocità, posso affermare con fermezza che questo gruppo è promettente. Ora, quella promessa arriva sotto forma di 12 velocità.

La nuova guarnitura FSA K-Force WE è leggermente diversa dalla versione precedente. Sembra che il team di progettazione abbia abbandonato il logo WE rosso brillante e abbia optato per un pacchetto grafico più tenue. La guarnitura è più simile alle guarniture modulari che FSA utilizza per le sue offerte di mountain bike e gravel. Con bracci cavi in fibra di carbonio 3K e perno in lega da 30 mm (BB386Evo).

La cosa bella di avere il pacchetto modulare è la possibilità di cambiare rapidamente le corone senza bisogno di un BCD specifico per compatto o standard. Questo metodo consente inoltre a FSA di realizzare corone lavorate a CNC, simili alle offerte di ghiaia che hanno attualmente.
La guarnitura offrirà corone nelle opzioni 50/34, 54/40 denti e subcompatte 46/30 denti. Con dimensioni della pedivella che vanno da 165, 167,5, 170, 172,5 e 175 mm, con un peso dichiarato di 544 g per guarnitura da 170, 54/40 t.
La cassetta della versione precedente del gruppo WE era straordinaria, realizzata in titanio fuso e trattato termicamente montato su uno spider in fibra di carbonio opaca. Il prodotto finito è leggero e accattivante. Non sorprende che il design sia rimasto, FSA afferma che la nuova cassetta è più leggera del 13% rispetto al suo predecessore, il che è difficile da credere con l'ingranaggio extra, ma dovremo aspettare e vedere quando arriverà il gruppo.
